Why Blogger?
I have to say that out of all the options that are available nowadays, it becomes really difficult to narrow down which option works best. In the past I have used WordPress extensively, specially because of the customization aspects of it and ability to adapt it to the needs of the website. If I was doing the website professionally for someone, I would recommend they keep their own servers and base their blogs off of wordpress, but that is probably the reason I did not go with that option. WordPress is too robust, and in order to use all the capabilities one has to actually have quite a bit more day to day maintenance. For this class I chose a blogging site that combines some customization with the ease of use that comes from not having to deal with server based coding. The fact of the matter is that Blogger was bought out by Google, which means that it is now a Google product and creating a new blog was as easy as 4 or 5 clicks. I think it also looks pretty nice and works rather well within a shadowbox, which was what I intended to do from the beginning.
